Personality Assessment and feedback helps individuals and couples understand themselves better and also us focus treatment effectively from the beginning (utilizing the MMPI-2 and Firo-B) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minnesota_Multiphasic_Personality_Inventory

Emotionally Focused Therapy is a short-term (8-20 sessions) structured approach that was originally developed in the 1980s by Leslie Greenberg and Sue Johnson to be used with couples. There is significant research on this approach and it has been found that 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and that the gains are sustained for months to years following the end of treatment.  EFT is an evidence based, humanistic treatment that arose out of emotion theory and attachment theory. From the EFT perspective change occurs by means of awareness, regulation, reflection, and transformation of emotion taking place within the context of an empathetic relationship.www.iceeft.com/index.php?option=com_content&view.

Positive Psychology is built on research about what behaviors, attitudes, and thinking habits help enhance quality of life.  This body of research includes tools and exercises that can help you increase your happiness, improve health, relationships, and even longevity. www.ippanetwork.org/

Cardiac psychology is a specialization of health psychology that focuses on the primary and secondary prevention of heart disease by incorporating strategies to address the emotional and behavioral barriers to lifestyle changes (e.g. smoking cessation), and that seeks to enhance recovery in cardiac patients by means of providing patients tools (e.g. stress management and psychotherapy) to cope with life and physical changes associated with their disease. Cardiac psychologists can help cardiac patients across the lifespan: prevention, pre-surgery, post-surgery, and rehabilitation of cardiac disease with a particular emphasis on achieving optimal quality of life outcomes. We help cardiac patients cope with life-changing diagnoses, devices, or other events that may cause feelings of emotional discomfort.  Our goal is to help you adjust to your situation and to improve your quality of life. www.heart.org/

We work with cardiac patients and their families to foster mutual understanding and support during a difficult experience, transition, or recovery.  Sometimes, couples withdraw emotionally from each during when they need one another the most.  Couples can strengthen and deepen their relationship - the work we do can help you grow closer.
